In 1 Corinthians 9: 1-18, Paul again addresses the Corinthians question about the freedom of eating meat that has been offered to idols. In the former chapter he says that our freedom must be tempered by whether our actions are an offense to our brothers. Here Paul takes his argument a step further and deeper. The kind of life that Christ is calling us to is one where we give up our rights freely for the sake of Christ and the good of others. This kind of living requires a change of heart that only the gospel can produce in us. We are to live life centered on Christ and not ourselves. This is where true freedom is found. For all who feel that you are a victim of life’s circumstances and angry at God for letting you down, this is a sermon for you. Pastor Leonard discusses the recipe for getting unstuck in victimhood so that you can move forward in maturity in Christ.
