At the beginning of Holy Week it is good to ask “What is the gospel?” The four “gospels” in the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) are not biographies of Jesus, but predominately emphasis the events surrounding Jesus’ death and resurrection. In this sermon on I Corinthians 15:1-11, we have Paul’s most in-depth reflection on the meaning of Jesus’ death and resurrection. He examines the evidence, the witness of the Apostles, and his own personal experience with the risen Christ. These events are not just ancient historical facts. Rather they are the ongoing reality that provides life for all believers.
