The Love Your Neighbor Discussion Group (LYND) seeks to get to know and love our neighbors, particularly those different from us, by hearing each other’s stories through the lens of the Gospel.
This fall, we plan to host two talks on the theme of Christian artists; how we can we love and support our sisters and brothers in the arts, recognizing that they are imaging the God of all beauty as they use their creative gifts.
Our first session on Friday, September 9/18, 7:00-8:30 pm, will be a chance to hear our own Connor-May Kelly, musicologist, musician, and composer, who will present on her Masters thesis topic of Elizabeth Alcott, the sister of Louisa May Alcott, author of Little Women. What is the value of a faithful, beautiful life that is small in scope, almost hidden? Lizzy Alcott lived such a life, and inspired the character of Beth March in Little Women.
